For many organisations it can be hard to talk about the likely impacts of climate change with their supporters or beneficiaries. Confusion over the best thing to do or a sense of helplessness at the scale of the challenge can be overwhelming. Cynnal Cymru has been helping organisations from all sectors to hold these conversations with their peers since our inception in 2002. It is part of our vision for a Wales with a low carbon economy, fair and just society and thriving natural environment. Today, we are the official partner of the Carbon Literacy project in Wales and have helped train housing associations, community groups, local authorities, councillors and Board members. We also helped convene Wales’s first Climate Assembly in Blaenau Gwent in 2021. This workshop will share some of the lessons from these experiences in engagement and some insights into how to hold these conversations and enable action. It will also be a space to share concerns or anxieties around communicating climate change and an opportunity to discuss potential solutions.
