Social prescribing

The Grow Well project began in 2016 and is a social prescribing to therapeutic community garden project, run by local charity Grow Cardiff in partnership with the NHS’ South West Cardiff Cluster. The aim of the project is to support local people’s health and well-being through community gardening. In 2020 it was a Bevan Exemplar project and in 2021 was shortlisted in the National Social Prescribing Awards, Nature category. Using the ‘Grow Well’ project as a case study, this workshop led by Grow Cardiff staff will explore how third sector organisations can successfully set up and sustain social prescribing projects and the benefits for participants.
