Young Wales is a Children in Wales initiative funded by Welsh Government. We are about listening to young people and empowering their voices. Our work is built on the ideas of sharing, informing and changing policy and practice. By working with Welsh Government and organisations across Wales, Young Wales provides opportunities for young people to be involved in social action, and influence decision-making on a local and national level.
The United Nations Convention of the Children’s Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is at the heart of the work carried out by Young Wales. We want young people to know their rights so our goal at Young Wales is to reflect UNCRC Article 12 – The right for young people to have opinions, and for these opinions to be heard, and taken seriously.
