The UK government’s new Employment Rights Bill is currently making its way through parliament. It aims to modernise employment law, strengthening worker protections and promote fairness in the workplace. Key changes include making unfair dismissal claims a “day one” right, ensuring fairer treatment for zero-hours contracts, and creating a Fair Work Agency for enforcement. The bill also addresses issues like flexible working, statutory sick pay, family leave, and protections against harassment.
